Pick My Project Update

Welcome to our first Pick My Project update for 2019. Last year you might remember that our school was a winner of a community-based government grant of $188,000 to upgrade the community sports courts.

This upgrade is being coordinated as part of the Landscape Master Plan and will be the biggest facilities initiative in 2019.

Since being awarded the government grant, our Pick my Project working group has engaged with the relevant government departments who oversee all of these projects across Victoria.

We have submitted the required project overview templates to confirm the scope of proposed redevelopment works and preliminary financials.   We are also seeking advice and quotes from a variety of engineers and suppliers.

Concurrently, Laidlaw & Laidlaw Design, who are responsible for developing the school’s landscape master plan, are looking at the sports court configuration, surrounds, size and any other issues arising from the community consultation process to balance these with other needs and desires for the school landscape, and to ensure the design is cohesive with the broader master plan.

Following in-principle approval of L&L Design’s schematic design concept for the master plan, it’s expected we will then proceed to detailed construction design and documentation.

This background planning phase, while invisible to the school community, is vital to make sure our community sports courts are more functional and able to be used for a wide range of activities.

We are very excited about delivering this initiative - for the community and for all the children at Armadale Primary.

We will provide regular updates to keep you informed of progress.
