Resource Smart Schools

Armadale Primary School joined the AUSSI Vic Resource Smart Schools Program in July 2008 and achieved accreditation for the Core Module at the end of 2008, and for the Waste Module at the end of 2009. We are well on our way to becoming a 5 Star Resource Smart School. On 18 November 2009 the school received a Commendation at the Energy Smart School of the Year Awards. During 2010 we worked on the Energy Module to become an even more Energy Efficient school.

By August 2011 we formally completed the ResourceSmart Australian Sustainable Schools Initiative (AuSSI Vic) core module as well as the water and energy modules. In 2014 we submitted our accreditation for the fifth and final star and are awaiting confirmation.

Resource Smart School Awards

Seven of our senior Green Team offered to help make a presentation that we could take to  the Resource Smart School Awards on Monday 8 September 2014. We had been invited by the organisers to present the story of how we became a 100% Nude Food School. The students  worked over many lunchtimes to perfect the presentation and then rehearse it. Monday was the big day and the team did a fantastic job presenting this to a large audience of students and teachers. We have also been invited to present our story to the Port Phillip and Bayside Sustainable Schools Festival. Many thanks to the following students who have made a great contribution to our presentation: Anais, Blayke, Riley, Nate, Jack, Louis and Tommy. Thanks also to our Masters Student Teacher, Alex Robins who has been instrumental in getting our students to such a high level. Many thanks to the Kids Teaching Kids organisation for supporting us with funding to go to this fantastic event.
